At least 17 people died and an unknown number of others were missing after a landslide swept over a remote village on Indonesia's Sumatra island, local officials said on Friday.
"Villagers are still searching for victims and some bodies have been pulled from the mud," Yurnaldi Nurdin, a city council member, told Metro TV on Friday.
The slide struck the village of Air Dingin, about 900 kilometers (560 miles) northwest of the capital Jakarta, before dawn on Friday, he said.
