18-year-old gang-raped in southwest Delhi

A recently married woman was gang raped by five men first, in a moving car and then in a nearby field in Najafgarh.

An 18-year-old, recently married woman was on Tuesday gang raped by five men first, in a moving car and then in a nearby field in southwest Delhi area, after which they were arrested, police said.

The accused waylaid the victim, who was returning home after purchasing groceries in Paprawat village of Najafgarh. They forced her into a Maruti van and raped her. They then took her to a nearby field, took turns and raped her again, police said.

A passerby heard the commotion and informed the nearby PCR van that rushed to the scene, they added.

Sensing danger, the accused fled from the scene but were arrested after a long chase. They were identified as Vijender, Jai Prakash, Surinder, Vinod and Sonu, they said.

A case has been registered at the Najafgarh police station.
