2 hardcore ULFA militants surrender in Assam

Two hardcore ULFA insurgents, including self-styled 'corporal' Kalia Moran of its 'Strike Force 28th Battalion C Company', surrendered with arms on Wednesday in Assam's Tinsukia district.

The two laid down arms before the Second Bihar Regiment commanding officer Col S Munga, district superintendent of police PK Bhuyan and subdivisional magistrate Nurul Amin Laskar at a function in Gelapukhuri.

Kalia and the other ULFA cadre, Monu Moran, deposited 10 Chinese-make mines, three improvised explosives, a country-made pistol, 10 metre of fuse wires, five metre cordex, two detonators and 10 pencil batteries.
