26/11 attacks: Ansari, Ahmed get police custody

A local court in Mumbai remanded Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed to police custody till January 23 in connection with the November 26 Taj hotel firing case.

A local court in Mumbai on Monday remanded Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed to police custody till January 23 in connection with the November 26 Taj hotel firing case.

Ansari and Ahmed, accused in the recent terror attacks in Mumbai, were produced before the court today and remanded to police custody in the case registered at the Colaba police station in south Mumbai.

They were arrested in February last year in connection with the attack on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Uttar Pradesh.

The duo were brought to Mumbai from Lucknow on December 18 last year.

Both had allegedly conducted a recce of the city and submitted information of possible targets to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) operators prior to the attacks.
