The traffic police were hopeful of pushing more vehicles towards Srinagar till late Saturday evening if the weather continued to remain healthy.

However, at some places, like Chenani, where a portion of the road had caved in, traffic jams persisted as vehicles could move only in a single line. At other spots, chaos was created by reckless driving.
Traffic movement from Jammu to Srinagar will be allowed on Sunday.

On Saturday, Leh was the coldest place in the state at minus 14° Celsius, followed by Kargil at minus 13° Celsius.
