3 CRPF men killed, 2 injured in J&K blast

Three men of the force were killed and two other personnel injured in the blast that shook the area, reports Rashid Ahmad.

Terrorists blew up a CRPF vehicle at Bandina in southern Pulwama district on Tuesday. Three men of the force were killed and two other personnel injured in the blast that shook the area.

An official spokesperson said that militants had planted a pwerful IED on the main road outside the village and set it off when a CRPF vehicle passedby. The vehicle was blown up in air and fell several meters away. Spokesperosn said that five CRPF men were travelling in the vehicle and all of them got critically wounded.

The spokesperson said that one of the injured jawans died instantly while two others died in Medical Institute Soura where they had been brought for treatment. The condition of other two injured jawans was also stated to be critical.

Hizbul Mujahideen claimed responsibility for the attack. A spokesperson of the outfit told newspaper offices on telephone that six security personnel were killed in the attack.

Terrorists tossed a hand grenade on a patrolling party of security forces at Bandipora in north Kashmir causing injuries to three jawans. The security forces had earlier defused an IED in the area averting a major tragedy.
