30 more policemen faint during physical ability test

A day after a policeman died and 23 others were taken ill during a physical ability test, another 30 policemen on Thursday fainted due to extreme heat while undergoing the test for the post of sub-inspector in Uttar Pradesh.

A day after a policeman died and 23 others were taken ill during a physical ability test, another 30 policemen on Thursday fainted due to extreme heat while undergoing the test for the post of sub-inspector in Uttar Pradesh.

The incident occurred this morning when 30 policemen participating in a marathon here fainted during physical ability test due to heat, additional SP and examination officer Ashok Kumar Verma said.

A policeman had died yesterday while appearing for the physical test in Meerut and 23 others were taken ill in different districts of the state.

He said that while 22 policemen have been admitted to a district hospital, eight were admitted to hospital in police line, he said.

A police personnel Dilip suffered heat stroke after which he jumped from the first floor of the district hospital and sustained injuries, Chief Medical Officer Moeed said.

Verma said that a total of 98 examinees from Faizabad range participated in the physical ability test, of which 49 cleared the examination.
