The reports said that the house caved in on Friday night due to the weight of so many mourners, adding most of the injured persons were taken to Champhai district hospital while one person, whose condition was stated to be serious, was brought to Aizawl Civil Hospital on Saturday.

C Lalngurliana, 42, village council secretary of Kanan locality in Champhai fell ill and died at Khawzawl village while he was being brought to Aizawl for treatment.

His body was brought to his home on Froday night and his house collapsed at around 10 PM, the reports said.
