5 killed, 2 injured in car bus collision in Mangalore

Five persons were killed and two injured when a car was hit by a speeding bus at Panambur, about 10 kms away from Mangalore on Monday.

While three persons died on the spot two succumbed to injuries in a private hospital, police said.

The private bus was proceeding towards Udupi from Bangalore and the car was moving towards Mangalore, when the mishap occurred.

The bus was moving on the wrong side of an under construction four lane road, police said.

The front portion of both the vehicles were damaged under the impact of the collision.
