AS MANY as 66 candidates filed their papers on the second day of nominations on Tuesday for the forthcoming election of the Allahabad High Court Bar Association (HCBA). On Monday 23 candidates had filed nominations. Now the total number of candidates, who have filed nomination papers so far, has reached 89.

Now the total number of candidates, who have filed nomination papers so far, has reached 89.
Two lawyers- Viresh Mishra and CL Pandey filed their nomination papers for the coveted post of president. While Viresh Mishra, a designated senior advocate, is former senior vice-president of HCBA, CL Pandey is the outgoing president of HCBA.
For the post of secretary, three lawyers- Dr CP Upadhyaya, Om Subhash Tripathi and BD Pandey- filed papers on Tuesday. With three papers filed on Monday, now the total number of candidates for this post has gone to six.
For five vice-presidents’ posts, 23 candidates filed papers today. They included Praveen Shukla, Anuradha Sunduram, Mamta Maurya, Shailendra Kumar Pathak, Gauri Shankar Kesharwani, Dr Hridayawati Mishra, Prakash Chandra Pathak, Mahendra Singh, Avanidra Kumar Mishra, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Akhilesh Kumar Mishra alias Gandhi, Raj Kumar Singh Chauhan, Jitendra Kumar, Pradeep Kumar Sonkar, Manvendra Verma, Rabindra Nath Ojha, Yashrath, Achyut Pandey, Om Prakash Sharma, Ram Kumar Malviya, Girand Singh, Upendra Singh and Shardendu Shekhar Shukla. Five papers were filed on Monday.
Others who filed nominations were: Treasurer: Santosh Kumar Uapdhyaya, Himanshu Singh, Ramesh Chandra Tiwari, Lok Nath Shukla and Ram Sagar Yadav.
