Nine persons were sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court on Thursday in connection with the kidnapping of prominent doctor of Bihar's Sasaram town.

District and sessions judge Arun Kumar Srivastava also slapped a fine of rupees seven lakh on the prime accused Dipak Bandhu and rupees one lakh each on the eight others.
The doctor, Shashi Kumar Sinha, was kidnapped from Tilauthu police station area in Rohtas district on February 7, 2006.
