A heady mix 'that crashed systems of Rahul, Moitra'

Was it a mistake of the drug dealer that proved fatal for Mahajan's aide and also landed late BJP leader's son in hospital?

Was it a mistake of the drug dealer that proved fatal for Bibek Moitra and also landed Rahul Mahajan in hospital?

Presuming that both had drugs, a significant angle the police are now probing is whether the narcotic substance that was consumed at the get-together on Thursday night at 7 Safdarjung Lane was a cocktail of heroin and cocaine.

The police have detained a Nigerian drug dealer. He is the only man who can answer this puzzle. The police suspect that the Nigerian drug dealer who handed over the pouch to Sahil Zarru at Priya Complex in Vasant Vihar could have handed out a refined form of heroin. "Extra-refined heroin, which is usually supplied from Afghanistan, is white in colour and could resemble cocaine," said a senior Delhi Police Officer from Narcotics Department.

The two drugs - heroin and cocaine - are consumed in different ways. Cocaine is usually snorted. The other way of consuming it is to smoke it in the form of a cigarette. Usually, a different form of cocaine is used in this case, which is known as "crack cocaine".

Heroin on the other hand is usually burned in a spoon or in a silver foil and its smoke is inhaled. The other way in which heroin is consumed is by injecting intravenously.

The two drugs usually do not resemble each other. Heroin comes in a light brown colour, it could either be granulated or powdery.

This kind of heroin usually comes from Rajasthan. Although, heroin that is smuggled from Afghanistan is highly refined form and is white in colour. This is the only form of heroin, which can be confused with cocaine. Cocaine on the other hand is a fine white powder, which resembles Lactogen. It is soft and fluffy.
