Abducted youth rescued, two held

THE SPECIAL Operation Group (SOG) team of district police along with Maharajganj police, arrested two kidnappers and rescued Serajuddin (20), son of a railway employee from their captivity following a brief encounter at Raniayapur crossing under Puranderpur police station of Maharajganj district on Tuesday.

THE SPECIAL Operation Group (SOG) team of district police along with Maharajganj police, arrested two kidnappers and rescued Serajuddin (20), son of a railway employee from their captivity following a brief encounter at Raniayapur crossing under Puranderpur police station of Maharajganj district on Tuesday.

General Manger NER Sukhbir Singh announced Rs 20,000 award for the members of the team. SSP Raja Srivastav and other police officials also announced rewards for the team.

Serajuddin, son of Shakir Ali a railway employee, was abducted on August 25. The kidnappers had demanded Rs 5 lakh ransom for his release failing which, they threatened to kill Serajuddin.

A case was registered at Cantonment police station by Shakir Ali in this regard.
On Tuesday, the SOG team led by in-charge DN Singh and Atul Narain Singh, posing as Shakir Ali’s relatives, reached the bridge at Rahaniya river on the pretext of paying the ransom, as directed by the kidnappers. Soon they cops arrested Tabrez, a resident of Marchihwa village under Purenderepur police station of Maharajganj district and recovered a knife from his possession.

Another kidnapper, identified as Vinod Kumar Sharma, a resident of Marad Vindalia village under Nebua Naurangia police station of Kushinagar was also arrested and a handmade pistol recovered from his possession.

Later, on their information, the cops rescued Serajuddin.
