ABVP men chargesheeted

THE CID on Friday filed a charge-sheet against six ABVP members for the murder of Professor H S Sabharawal during the student elections at Madhav College in Ujjain on August 26.
The six — former Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad state president Shashiranjan Akela, former organising secretary Vimal Tomar, Vishal Rajoria, Hemant Dubey, Pankay Mishra and Sudhir Yadav – were charged with murder and rioting under sections 302 and 147 of the IPC.
The charge-sheet against Judicial Magistrate First Class R S Madia The 288-page charge-sheet, filed in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class R S Madia, included statements of 94 people, of which eight are eyewitnesses.
According to information, the CID included in the charge-sheet the FIR, medical reports, site map, seizure of Sabharawal’s scooter, video clippings and the investigation report.
The CID, in its investigation report, said that when the professor was going out of the college from gate number 2 on August 26, the accused manhandled him which led to his death.
The CID maintained that the investigation was still on and a supplementary challan could be added later. Meanwhile, Judicial Magistrate Madia has extended the judicial custody of the six accused till October 26.
