Police said Shyam Nadan Prasad was stabbed multiple times in his abdomen after he had objected to obscene gestures allegedly made by a couple at a public park in Indirapuram.

Though the details about exactly what happened at the park aren't clear, the park's security guards saw a girl and a man running out of the park. They had left behind their bike in the parking lot.

Police later traced the two-wheeler to one Raju Kumar, a resident of Gokulpuri area of Delhi. He told the police that he had sold the bike to one Rahul (single name), a resident of Anand Vihar area of Delhi.

"We have picked up some persons in this connection and soon the culprits would be traced with their help. The assailant, who stabbed the victim, worked as a bouncer at a mall in Ghaziabad and would be nabbed soon," senior superintendent of police (SSP) Raghubir Lal said.

Police said teams have been sent to nab the woman accomplice who was also found to have been actively involved during the attack on the senior citizen.
