Advani reaped what he sowed, claims Vaghela

Leader of opposition in Gujarat assembly, Shankersinh Vaghela, on Monday said that senior BJP leader L K Advani was now reaping what he sowed in last few years.

Leader of opposition in Gujarat assembly, Shankersinh Vaghela, on Monday said that senior BJP leader L K Advani was now reaping what he sowed in last few years.

Vaghela, who quit BJP after leading a rebellion against former chief minister Keshubhai Patel’s BJP government in Gujarat in mid-nineties, said “If Mr Advani had understood how I felt at that time, things would not have been different for him.”

“Advani says that the BJP is no longer an idealistic party, but my question is only today he knew? Did not he know that opportunistic elements have sneaked into the party? You are a senior leader, why you allowed the party to deviate from the path of the ideals?” Vaghela asked.

He said Advani only abetted such elements and even given his blessings to them. Many senior leaders including Keshubhai Patel in Gujarat had to leave the party. But Advani just enjoyed the plight of the committed leaders of the party, who had no option but leave the party
