“After 9/11, there has not been a single incident of terror in America. But in our country, terrorist strikes are taking place one after the other and the culprits are neither captured nor eliminated,” he said at a poll meeting in Raipur.

Insisting that “will power” is the key to prevent terror, Advani said if voted to power, the NDA will adopt a “zero tolerance” policy against terrorism and eliminate the menace.

“It is being said that terrorism was there even during the NDA regime. It is true that attacks on Parliament and Akshardham took place during NDA rule but the terrorists involved in such strikes were either killed or captured.”

Accusing the UPA of indulging in “appeasement politics”, he said the mastermind behind the Parliament attack had not been executed so far because “his name is Afzal Guru. If his name would have been Anand Singh or something else, he would have been hanged by now,” the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate said.

In election meetings in Bihar and Jharkhand on Saturday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi had attacked the BJP over its track record in fighting terrorism. “There were terror attacks one after another during the BJP-led NDA rule,” she had said.
