However, the priests who participated in the ‘Jalabhishek’ ceremony of Bachchan family and Aishwarya Rai at the Kashi Vishwanth Temple and also in the yagya at Sankat Mochan Temple, deny marriage-related pujas were conducted.
But purchase of auspicious eleven saris by the high profile families soon after the puja ceremonies, makes one believe that,'both sides have begun preparations for marriage'.
And if the salesman of a sari showroom who showed a variety of saris to members from both the families is to be believed, it becomes clear that Ash and Abhishek closer to getting married.
Says Vishnu Jalan of the famous Jalan Saris in Durgakund area: "Three persons identified themselves as associates of the Bachchan and Rai families arrived in our showroom and straightway approached me--asking for a variety of saris at 10.30 am on Monday".
He quoted the three persons making themselves clear that they be shown saris, which could be used for 'sagai as well as shaadi'.
"Sagai se shaadi tak ke liye saris dikhana", Jalan said quoting them, adding, "I was made clear that saris be shown carefully and told that I should be aware about Aishwarya Rai's presence in the town."
"Indirectly it was made clear to me that saris were meant for Aishwarya Rai", Jalan further said, adding, "they chose 11 saris in the range of Rs 3,500 to Rs 5,500 and paid the total amount of Rs 50,800 approximately."
Vishnu Jalan also said, "After some time on the same day, I received a call from one of a youth saying that saris were excellent and we would be back for purchase of more such saris."
It is noteworthy to mention here that that Amitabh Bachchan, wife Jaya, son Abhishek, daughter Shweta, Ajitabh and his daughter Namrata, Aishwarya Rai and Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh participated in ‘Mangla Aarti’ and ‘Jalabishek’ inside Vishwanth Temple and yagya at Sankat Mochan Temple in the wee hours of Monday.
The Bachchan family’s presence in the city along with Aishwarya Rai and Ajitabh Bachchan for specific religious ceremonies has been trigerring rumours that the Abhishek and Ash were getting closer to marriage.
