Director Karan Johar seems to have joined the remake brigade in a big way. After his announcement of remaking Stepmom, the director is now all set to make his own version of National award winning film Agneepath.

For this, he has approached Hrithik Roshan to play the brooding Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, which was portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan in the original film.

While he had to pay an astronomical amount to buy the rights of the Hollywood blockbuster Stepmom, which he is remaking in Hindi, he does not need to buy the rights to remake Agneepath as it is his home production. His late father, Yash Johar had produced the 1990 Amitabh Bachchan-Mithun Chakraborty starrer, which was directed by the late Mukul Anand.

We wonder why KJo didn't appraoch Jr Bachchan for this role. Anyways, we do hope Hrithik fits into the big shoes of Amitabh Bachchan.
