A group of militants fired indiscriminately at Harni Police post in Mendhar area at around 2355 hours yesterday, officials said. The police personnel fired back forcing the militants to flee, they said.

Militants also fired at an army patrol party in Achhad area last night but none was hurt. Security forces smashed a militant hideout and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Rajouri district.

Rashtirya Rifles troops busted the hideout in Sagrawat forest belt, the officials said adding the recoveries included a pistol, 538 rounds of AK rifles and two RPGS.
