AIADMK on Wednesday staged a demonstration protesting the 'failure' of Rangasamy-led AINRC government to maintain proper law and order in the Union Territory of Puducherry and delay in distribution of relief to carry out restoration works in cyclone Thane-hit villages.

If the government could not protect people and maintain law and order, there was no need for such an administration, AIADMK organising secretary and former Tamil Nadu Assembly speaker PH Pandian said, addressing party workers.

AIADMK's Puducherry unit secretary, A Anbalagan, MLA, said Centre should invoke provisions of the constitution and dismiss the government.

Slogans condemning the "delay" in distribution of relief to carry out restoration and rehabilitation works in cyclone Thane-hit villages and "failure" to maintain law and order were raised.
