Aid to victims of mishap caused by union minister's convoy
The district administration will provide financial assistance to those who injured in Thursday’s accident, involving Union Minister Pallam Raju’s convoy, in which five persons were killed and seven injured, East Godavari District Collector Gopala Krishna Diwadi said today.

Diwadi visited the Government General Hospital in Rajahmundry, where the injured persons are admitted. He enquired about their condition and directed the doctors to provide them all medical facilities and good treatment.
He assured financial aid and other benefits to the injured victims under the 'Apath Bandu' Scheme. He said free houses will be provided to kin of the five killed in the mishap.
Rs 5,000 will be paid as emergency medical expenses to the accident victims, he added.
