The AISA representatives from different universities and states are in the city to participate in the two-day meeting of the national council at Allahabad.
The meeting was presided over by AISA national president Kavita Krishnan and discussions were held over the agitation being carried out for the Right to employment and policies of the Central Government for students. The members also took some important decisions which would be disclosed only after conclusion of the meeting, said AISA state president Ramayan Ram.
AISA national general secretary Sunil Yadav, Delhi state AISA secretary Ravi Rai, AISA UP secretary Manish Sharma, AISA Assam president Balindra Saikya, AISA Jharkhand president Indresh Maichuri, AISA Bihar secretary Abhyuday were present in the meeting.
Demand to postpone exam: Allahabad University students led by leader Vijay Kumar Dwivedi gheraoed the AU Dean (Law) Prof HN Tiwari and asked him to postpone the LLM (first year) exam scheduled to start from June 23.
The AU student union general secretary Suresh Yadav, student leader Samar Bahadur Singh also supported the gherao.
The students demanded Prof Tiwari to postpone the LLM-I examination as PCS (J) main examination was also anticipated to be conducted during the same period.
The students submitted a memorandum to Prof Tiwari along with admit cards and examination schedule of PCS (J) main examination. Those who participated were Vikramjeet Singh, Alok, Javed, Shailesh Singh and Vivek Mishra among others.
