Aishwarya's father undergoes surgery

The Bollywood actor's father was taken to the Hinduja Hospital Thursday afternoon after he complained of stomachache.

Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai's father, admitted to a city hospital for a stomach-related health problem, has been operated upon.

Krishnaraj, 55, was taken to the Hinduja Hospital Thursday afternoon after he complained of stomachache and subsequent vomiting, hospital officials said.

Doctors said he suffered from some gastro-intestinal problem and was operated upon Thursday night. Later, he was shifted to the intensive care unit and is under observation.

The actress and her mother Vrinda were with Krishnaraj through the night. Aishwarya left the hospital Friday morning after the doctors declared him to be out of danger.
