How can I become an actuary?
To become an actuary, an aspirant must have a good aptitude for Mathematics and Statistics. To be able to work as a full-fledged Actuary, you have to clear, through self-study, a series of examinations conducted by the Actuarial Society of India (www.actuariesindia.org), Mumbai.

With the growth of the insurance sector, particularly after the entry of international companies into the country, employment opportunities in the area of Actuarial Science have increased.

While a trained person can land a good job with any insurance company, a qualification from the Actuarial Society of India is not the only route to join an insurance firm. You may consider a PG diploma in Insurance Management, or Actuarial Science.

Prominent institutions offering these courses include the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai; the National Insurance Academy, Pune; and the Institute of Insurance Surveyors and Adjusters, Mumbai.
