The JD-U candidate Ramchandra Singh projects you as an outsider?
I am not an outsider in Samastipur. As a party functionary, I have been associated with the people here for the last ten years. I contested the Kalyanpur assembly seat in the year 2000, which I lost by a narrow margin. In fact, I am contesting on the demand of the people here.

It is being said that the rebel RJD leader and district board chairman Sheel Kumar Roy who is contesting as an Independent candidate may tilt the balance against you?
No way. He will not be able to make any dent in my vote bank, as I am the official RJD candidate and the choice of the party supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav. All other candidates are dwarfs before me.

The district unit of the LJP led by Shiv Shankar Sahni is presumably supporting Sheel Kumar Roy. Will it affect your prospects?
Not at all. Sheel may have to withdraw or face disciplinary action and the rebel LJP leaders are no threat, as the electorate will listen to the verdict of the LJP supremo Ram Vilas Paswan.

What are your plans for the constituency if you win?
To tackle the problem of flood will be one of my priorities. Roads will be constructed and non-conventional resources of energy will be exploited to solve the problem of power shortage.
