US-led forces are holding more than 3,500 prisoners of war in Iraq, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said on Tuesday.
There are "in excess of 3,500 Iraq prisoners of war," Rumsfeld said, adding that thousands more Iraqis were part of units that disbanded.
