Kapoor is now waiting for the Big B's visit to the city for his signature in the painting before the auction can begin. The proceeds will fund projects for street children across the country.

The Kolkata-based painter is excited about his work - "Great Expectations" - which frames Amitabh in the sky with some street children standing below.

"The idea stuck me when I saw the screen legend on a Unicef ad for the pulse polio campaign last year," said Kapoor, who is attached with NGOs Save the Children (Mumbai), Concern India Foundation and Prema Asha (Kolkata).

"I now want the actor to sign it so that we can auction it for the good cause. Jaya Bachchan (Amitabh's wife) was in town recently and she assured me that she would try her best to expedite the process," Kapoor told IANS.

"The painting has been done in my usual surreal style," added the artist. Kapoor has just finished painting 45 screen goddesses at the request of a Delhi-based gallery owner.

The portraits include that of Meena Kumari, Nutan, Madhubala, Hema Malini, Suchitra Sen, Rakhee, Dimple Kapadia, Rekha and Zeenat Aman.
