An Indian worker died and three others suffered serious injuries after a scaffolding on which they were standing fell from the fourth floor of a under construction in Sharjah.

The incident happened on Thursday within days of another mishap in Sharjah (on June 23), which killed four workers, three of them Indians.

Police officials told the local media that the workers were carrying out exterior work in the building when the ropes holding the scaffolding snapped.

The victims have been shifted to Al Kuwaiti Hospital morgue and the injured were admitted in the ICU.

Police also said the scaffolding was not secured and fixed to the building properly stressing the need for contracting companies to check the safety of equipment the workers are using.
