BJP's prospective Chief Ministerial candidate on Thursday said both the anti-incumbency factor and people's high regard for Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee resulted in the party sweeping the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls.
Amid joyous scenes, a triumphant Bharati said Chief Minister Digvijay Singh had also hurt the sentiments of the electorate by remarking that whether they vote or not, Congress will return to power.
The third crucial element that went against the Congress government was lack of developmental work over the last ten years, she told reporters adding shortage of power, water and basic infrastructure also contributed to the party debacle.
