Arcelor would be making an announcement on Tuesday concerning the unsolicited bid from global sector leader Mittal Steel.

Arcelor, the world's second biggest steelmaker, confirmed on Monday that it would be making an announcement on Tuesday concerning the unsolicited bid from global sector leader Mittal Steel.

"We will communicate tomorrow... it will be regarding the on-going offer," an Arcelor spokeswoman said.

Earlier, a source said that Arcelor would announce measures, including an extraordinary dividend, on Tuesday designed to fend off the $25.1 billion bid from rival Mittal.
