Arguments in the 1998 serial blasts cases, which had commenced on Monday and was posted for Friday, resumed in the special court.

It was posted for Friday after the state public prosecutor Raja Ilango sought time to study the case history of the blasts which occurred in Coimbatore on February 14, 1998 during the visit of BJP leader LK Advani, claiming 52 lives and injuring over 200.

Ilango on Friday presented the motive behind the formation of the proscribed Al-uma and the conspiracy angle, sources in the defence lawyers' panel said.

About 70 of the 166 accused were brought to the court, the sources said adding the argument was posted for July 12.

It was likely to continue for another two months, they said.
