Police said a sniffer dog led a road opening party (ROP) to the two pre-planted IED's near the GB Pant hospital in the Badami Bagh cantonment.

"The two IEDs were neutralised by the army bomb disposal squads and thereby saved many precious lives," an official said.

The incident, which led to panic in the city, comes a day after a grenade blast inside the heavily guarded residence of moderate Hurriyat Conference chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. No one was injured.
