ASEAN-Pakistan dialogue on June 5-6

Pakistan was accorded the status of Sectoral Dialogue Partner of ASEAN in July 1997.

A two-day meeting of the ASEAN-Pakistan Joint Sectoral Dialogue Cooperation Committee (APJSCC) will begin here on next Monday.

Secretary General ASEAN Ong Keng Yong would lead the ASEAN delegation, which would include members from the 10 ASEAN countries, while Pakistan's Foreign Secretary Riaz Mohammad Khan would head the Pakistani delegation in the third APJSCC meeting, a Foreign Office statement said on Saturday.

Pakistan was accorded the status of Sectoral Dialogue Partner of ASEAN in July 1997.

The meeting during June 5-6 would review progress in all the eight areas of sectoral cooperation - trade, industry, investment, environment, science and technology, tourism, drugs and narcotics control, and human resource development - between the two sides.
