Paceman Nehra made his Test debut against Sri Lanka back in 1999 and managed to take the wicket of opener Marvan Atapattu.

It was another two years before Nehra had the chance again to play Test cricket.

He returned in Zimbabwe, where the Delhi player made no mistake by producing a number of impressive performances.

Nehra played in the final Test and one-day series against West Indies, where he showed a new-found maturity which will stand him in good stead for the World Cup.

The left-armer has limited experience at one-day level.

But his recent performances against the West Indies indicate the 23-year-old will play a regular part in India's cricket fortunes over the next few years.
