At DU: 1.4 lakh applications, 54,000 seats

The Delhi University's admission rush came to an end on Monday with a record 1.46 lakh students applying for 54,000 seats.

With 1,03,500 forms submitted over the counter, and 43,300 applications filed online, the university ended up beating the 2010 score of 1.2 lakh applications.


It’s going to be a tough call, said principals of top DU colleges, as this year the number of students who scored above 95% in CBSE Class 12 exams has also gone up. “The large number of applications does indicate that the cut-off may rise,” said a college principal. The first cut-off list will be out on June 26.
