A car bomb exploded outside an Iraqi bank on Monday, killing 10 people and wounding 15 in the town of Suweira, south of Baghdad, police said.

Major Mohammed Hassan of the Suweira police confirmed by phone that the blast happened early in the morning in the mostly Shiite town, 65 kms southeast of Baghdad.
The agricultural regions just south of the capital have a mixed Sunni-Shiite population and are frequently the scene of bloody attacks.
