Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee along with his Deputy LK Advani are likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new Gujarat Chief Minister at Gandhinagar on December 18, BJP sources here said.

Meanwhile, party president Venkaiah Naidu, party in charge for Gujarat and national treasurer Ramdas Aggarwal and party general secretary Sanjay Joshi are leaving for Ahmedabad on Monday for the newly-elected BJP legislature party meeting where incumbent Narendra Modi would be re-elected leader.

"It (Modi's election) would only be a formality," Naidu told reporters after a meeting of senior office-bearers with Vajpayee to review the party's performance.
