The three-member committee has scrutinised 60 affidavits and sought explanations from around 25 students and the remaining admission seekers will be cross examined by the committee by October 12.

Member of the committee Prof A Satyanaryan said that the committee detected three types of irregularities in the affidavits during scrutiny. The first category is of students who have concealed informations in the affidavit and around ten students procured admission by concealing the facts.

The second category is of those students who have done their PG and are attempting for the second PG degree. The third category is of those students who applied for the PG course after a long gap.

"The candidates were asked to give an explanation for pursuing admission to the PG courses. We carried out the investigation on a defined proforma which included the complete data from computer centre of the varsity to get past records of the students applying after gap and recommended verification of some degrees submitted by the candidates."

Prof Satyanarayan said, "We have cross examined 25 students and the explanation of remaining candidates have been called through their respective heads of department or through correspondence on their permanent address."

"The committee after completing the investigation of all the affidavits and candidates will submit its final report with the varsity Registrar by October 14, 2006", he added.

Prof Satyanaryan further said: "The second examination results will be declared very soon to help the students to attend their classes. The evaluation work is going on and the records are being collected at a very fast pace to declare the results as soon as possible. The varsity has restored academic atmosphere and very soon we will match the best central varsities of the country".
