Dalit and backward students expressed their resentment over Vice-Chancellor Prof RG Harshe’s declaration about celebration of the first anniversary. They expressed their views at a meeting held at the AU students’ union hall here on Tuesday. Student leader Dr Nirbhay Singh Patel presided over the meeting.
Patel accused the AU of adopting anti-backward class policies and said the Central status was a loss to Dalit and backward students. He said AU authorities had cancelled reservation for OBCs and no Central facilities were being offered to the students. Student leader Lalaram Saroj said the Central status had led to an increase in corruption in the varsity and the administration had misused the funds.
Santlal Verma said students were opposed to wastage of funds on anniversary celebrations. Those present were Zia Quonain Rizvi, Ajit Bhaskar, Anurag Patel, Dharmraj, Jagdish Yadav, Chandrashekhar Patel, and I.Sonkar.
