The VC was apprised of the problems by the inmates and he motivated the students to keep the hostel premises clean and maintain discipline. The VC expressed happiness over the fact that the students openly interacted with him and put forward their problems without intervention of any student leader.

AU’s Dean of Students Welfare Prof Jagdamba Singh and Proctor Prof Jata Shankar also accompanied the V-C during the inspection.

Decision hailed

Allahabad University’s executive member Sunit Vyas expressed satisfaction over the decision of AU’s Finance Committee for payment of salaries of the teachers and employees of Motilal Nehru Medical College (MLNMC), SRN Hospital and Shyama Prasad Degree College (SPMDC) by the university. Vyas said that the MLNMC and SPMDC would come into AU’s control after the decision.

College employees’ demands

Laboratory Technical Staff Association and Constituent Colleges of Allahabad University (AU) president Chandrakant Srivastava, demanded AU Vice-Chancellor and Registrar to provide medical facility and centralisation of leave travel allowance (LTA) in the constituent colleges.

Srivastava demanded the AU authorities to send a circular to all the constituent colleges so that all the staff members can avail these facilities and AU authorities can keep an eye over the procedures and finances of these colleges. He urged the V-C to inspect the constituent colleges intermittently as it would help in disposal of problems.
