The Austrian stretched his winning streak to three after winning the second race of the first round back in April and the first race of the second round.

The series was formerly known as the Formula BMW Asia series had an Indian, Bharat Raj, in the fray. The 14-year-old Bangalore boy, however, could finish only 12th in the morning race. But he came back to finish ninth in the final round of the day.

The ninth place finish was Bharat’s career best. He had finished 16th and 14th in the April races.

"I am getting there. It took a while in adjusting, but I am trying my best. This race is a great platform for me and bridges the gap between the basic formula races in India and the higher level," said Raj, whose experience in the past has been of Karting and Formula Rolon in India. On a pleasant afternoon, it looked like the Indian would follow his previous rounds’ performance in the final round.

But he managed to raise the bar in the day’s final round and sped up consistently to go past his opponents, three of who crashed out.
