Indian women who have achieved exceptional success in various walks of life will be honoured with `Women's Hall of Excellence Awards' in March.

The winners for the inaugural awards in various categories for 2006 will be selected by a panel of jury comprising prominent personalities.

Bakul Rajni Patel is the Chairperson and convenor of the jury, who along with NR Narayana Murthy, Deepak Parekh, Nita Ambani, Rajashree Birla, Simone Tata, Subhash Chandra, Shah Rukh Khan, Sunil Gavaskar, Iqbal Chagla and Sharmila Tagore, will select winners.

The nomination categories are: journalism (print & electronic), business, professional management, literature, politics, social service, law, science and technology, education, medicine & healthcare, sports, cinema & television, fashion design, fine arts & theatre, music & dance.

Patel said, "India is assuming increasing importance on the global stage in which the Indian women are playing a very big part. The award is recognition of contemporary Indian women who are as accomplished, as successful and as much of an achiever as any other in the world."
