A painting competition for disabled children of Red Eagle ASHA school was held on August 14, wherein 25 autistic, mentally retarded and physically disabled children took part. Prominent amongst the participants was Sarita, a disabled child with only one lower limb and no upper limbs.
Dimple Buttar, was the chief judge for the event. All participants were given prizes on August 21 in a cultural function organised at ASHA School.
Cancer screening and training on self-examination of breasts was explained to the families of the personnel of Red Eagle Division. More than two hundred families were screened on August 17 and 18.
Col Archana Saxena educated the families on the prevention and early detection of cancer of uterus, cervix and breasts. To add colours to the AWWA week, a ‘well baby’ competition was also conducted on August 19.
Wing commander SM Sharma, PRO, said in a press release on Monday that Dimple Bhuttar stressed upon making ASHA School children self-reliant and impressed on the need for detection of cancer and advised on taking proactive measures.
