People of Puducherry on Saturday observed Ayudha Pooja and Saraswathy Pooja with religious fervour and gaity and also embarking on a cleanliness drive.
Special poojas were conducted on the ninth day of the Navarathri festival at various temples and people made a beeline to offer prayers.
Pumpkins, an essential part of the celebration, were selling like hot cakes.
Owners of shops, business establishments and workshops dusted their premises.
Residential premises were also cleaned and poojas were performed to Goddess Saraswathi.
