Azam slams Congress again

He once again accused the Congress and the Governor of creating hurdles in the way of the university, which was meant for “Muslims as well as Hindus”.
Addressing the ‘Paigham-e-Jauhar’ conference in Lakhimpur, Khan projected the Congress as anti-Muslim.
He said he would leave no stone unturned to realise his dream of establishing the university. Despite the Muslims’ contribution to the Indian freedom struggle, they were projected as anti-India by some, he claimed.
The Congress ignored the contribution of Maulana Mohd Ali Jauhar, even though it was he who challenged the Britons in the Round Table conference over the freedom of India, Khan said. He said the Governor made certain remarks, which he should not have made.
Meanwhile, Khan lost his temper and condemned newspersons of the city at Jal Bhawan. A delegation of newspersons had called on the minister to apprise him of an incident in which SP activists had pelted mediapersons with stones a few weeks ago, while holding a demonstration at the Sankata Devi police outpost.
Three journalists Ramesh Pandey, Monu Kapoor and Amit Chaurasiya had sustained injuries in the attack.
Khan first expressed sympathy with the newspersons and, in a lighter vein, said such incidents were common with politicians. To this, a newsperson remarked, “They should be common with politicians, but not with the pressmen.”
At this, Khan lost his temper and said he had no regret over the incident.
