The demonstration – held before the office of the vice-chancellor was led by the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI). Following a petition by students – the High Court had directed the university to announce results of these students. The university, however, sent the matter for review by the Raj Bhavan, which also directed announcement of results.
NSUI State secretary Mukesh Gajbhiye said despite these directives the vice-chancellor was adamant and not announcing the results. He said on Monday, students were once again assured that results would be announced soon. The NSUI warned if this was not done, they would proceed on a hunger strike.
The organisation has also demanded that an inquiry be conducted into the long leaves of absence by the Vice-Chancellor and that he be removed from the post. Among others who participated in the demonstration included secretary Ubhay Kushal Tiwari, Prakash Chouksey, Atul Sharma, Nitin Saxena, Rashid Khan, Bunty Gajbhiye, Anil Patidar, Prashant, Nadir Khan and others.
