In a letter sent to all principals of the colleges and distance education institutions affiliated to the University and other exams-related officials, the University authorities have specifically mentioned that even the 'chowkidars'(watchmen) deployed at the gates of colleges/institutions should be asked not to carry these gadgets during the time of examinations so that any endeavour to abet copying by anyone could be controlled.

The students and invigilation staff, including Center Superintendents, Deputy Superintendents, Supervisors and fourth-class employees associated with examination duties had been forbidden to carry mobiles/ear-phones inside the examination centers during the examinations.

Any violation of these instructions would invite punishment under the rule of use of unfair means cases (UMC).

The annual university examinations have commenced from March 27 and would continue till May.
