Bank of Baroda robbery solved

POLICE TEAMS OF Varanasi and Mirzapur solved a case of daylight robbery that took place at the Bank of Baroda. They arrested three youths with the looted money in Varanasi on Sunday.

POLICE TEAMS OF Varanasi and Mirzapur solved a case of daylight robbery that took place at the Bank of Baroda. They arrested three youths with the looted money in Varanasi on Sunday.

The police teams of both the districts including Inspector General of Police, Varanasi zone AC Sharma nabbed three looters from the Sanskrit University area on Sunday morning.

Talking to mediapersons here on Sunday, SSP Varanasi Aushosh Pandey said the three miscreants were nabbed with the looted amount of Rs 6.82 lakh, two country-made pistols, looted motorcycle and two cell phones.

Pandey said three miscreants looted the branch office of Bank of Baroda at Kachwa in district Mirzapur on June 20. Police team, to investigate the matter, was constituted after IGP Varanasi Zone AC Sharma visited the bank branch.

The arrested looters have been identified as Anurag Mishra, son of Virendra Mishra and Nagendra Mishra, son of Nand Lal Mishra, both residents of Bunchi village under Phoolpur police station in Varanasi and Vindhyavasini Dubey alias Pintu son of Om Prakash Dubey, resident of Matkipur village under Aurai police station in Sant Ravidas Nagar district.The two mobiles, which were looted from the bank, were put on electronic surveillance. On the basis of surveillance, the team, headed by Kamal Yadav incharge Kotwali Police Station and Akshay Kumar incharge Luxa Police Station, laid trap on the three, who were on a motorcycle carrying the looted amount.

The arrested miscreants confessed that they had executed the robbery because they were unemployed and that there was no opportunity of getting any job.

They confessed that they had looted Rs 7 lakh from the Bank of Baroda out of which Rs 18,000 had been spent. They said they had planned to do business with the looted amount in Mumbai.
