Depending on the availability of space, decide the type of bar and accessories.

The ideal counter space for a bar is 7’ 3” feet. But you can manage with less.

A bar can be located in any corner of your house.

If you have a compact corner in an apartment then a bar should be a close cabinet. When you open it, the cabinet should have all the compartments to store and serve liquor.

Ideally you should know your bar theme before you start your shopping. You can pick up any theme from sleek to modern and English to sports depending on your idea of a bar.

One can use a leather panel, veneer or Italian marble top for the bar counter.

A few essentials:

Glasses — wine, shot glasses, tall to cocktail glasses.

Ice bucket with tongs, wine and bottle opener, stirrer, corkscrew, shaker, peg measurer, coasters, strainer, bar towels, ice crusher and bar spoons.

Liquors dispensers; bar stools; glass racks; bottle shelves; juice containers and snacks bowls.
